Lisa Worthing's accident

Please pray for Lisa Worthing and her family. She was involved in an accident earlier today. She was working with her horse and the rope got tangled around her left thumb. The horse took off and her thumb was pulled off at the knuckle closest to the end. They were not able to reattach it. She is at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.

Please pray for her and her family over the next days and weeks.

Lindy--Biopsy @ 1:30 p.m., 26 Oct

We received an email from a friend, Lindy Walker. Many of you may remember her from Marble Falls First Baptist Church. She and her family moved about a year ago to Boerne. She is a mother of 2 small children. Matty that is 4.5 and Zach will be 2 in February.

Our prayers are needed for her healing and comfort.

Hello Lindy Fan Club:)

It's me, Amanda Patrick, a personal friend of Ben and Lindy's (for those newly added to our notification listing that I may not know personally). I just wanted to bring a few updates to you to help satisfy some lingering curiosities.

Please read this message from our Lindy:

"To all my friends and family, I love you. If you haven't heard yet, I have a broken femur due to a tumor that was found Fri night. So far they are calling it a sarcoma, but dont know what type yet. I am taking this step by step as it comes, meeting each day ready o fight. I need your prayers to be strong and full of faith, believing in the healing power of God and His Word. My family is standing strong with me. I will meet my orthopedic oncologist tomorrow and will have a biopsy. We will know more about treatment after the biopsy results. Right now I am completely relying on God and leaning on my family and friends. Please foward this on to anyone on your contact list that would want to know since I may not have their email. I am grateful for your prayers. Love Lindy"

The biopsy is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Monday, 26 October. Please set your alarms for the timely prayer reminder upon this critical hour of discovery. Most importantly, we are praying for God's hands to miraculously REMOVE all suggested presence of these cancer cells in her body...not merely healing. Additionally, pain management is crucial for her bone break area as this surgery is postponed pending biopsy results. We should ask our Lord to watch over the nursing and other care staff to not forget her med intervals as well as when they handle her leg movement during repositioning.

Ronald Williams is the specialist doctor that will be performing this procedure. After some inquiries with folks in high and distinctive places, it has been guaranteed that Lindy has the BEST doctor in San Antonio to perform her biopsy. Some very loving and concerned counterparts asked questions about whether or not Lindy was getting the pristine care we all desire for her. The answer was a resounding YES. Dr. Williams has impeccable credentials and did in fact attend MB Anderson, the stated "mecca" of cancer care.

After speaking with Lindy for a few brief moments today, I would like to convey her sincere appreciation for all of those concerned for her and her family's well being. She is still very drained and requests that her family be the only people in her company at this time. She DOES have email available now, if you'd like to cyber visit with a short note of encouragement or a loving prayer.

Let's see what God's plan will reveal this week as we prepare to stand united against these ailments!

Most Faithfully and Prayerfully,
~Amanda

ANSWERED: Holly Burnett's neice

Latest news from Holly Burnett is that her neice, Kylie, is doing great after her back surgery for scoliosis.

Another reason to raise praise to GOD!

ANSWERED: Janie's mother-in-law

Dona Fox is recuperating very well from her second knee replacement. The physical therapists are amazed how well she is going at age 70.

Thank you for your prayers - give God the glory!

A request from Janie Fox

"Randy's mother, Dona Fox, is having her second knee replacement surgery this morning. She had the other knee done about two months ago and has done beautifully with her recovery. Now she is on to the second knee. Please pray for her safety under anesthesia and her speedy recovery. Thank you."

19 But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him? 20 We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”

21 The council then threatened them further, but they finally let them go because they didn’t know how to punish them without starting a riot. For everyone was praising God 22 for this miraculous sign—the healing of a man who had been lame for more than forty years.

Acts 4:19-22

A request from Holly Burnett

We received this email last night! Kylie's surgery is today, September 29, 2009.

"I wanted to ask if ya'll would say a prayer for my niece tonight at your group. She is having some major surgery tomorrow. She has severe scoliosis, which is affecting her internal organs. The surgery is pretty scary and my sister is very nervous. If you would pray for her parents as well, that would be great. My nieces name is Kylie and my sister and brother-in-law's names are Kim and Craig Cloud.

Kylie is 14 and she has an "s'' curve with a 52 and 60."

Proverbs 3:5-8

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

7 Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
8 Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones.

Praise God! ANSWERED

This is from our pastor - Jeff McAnally:

"I got a text message pretty late last night from Sandy Gibson asking us to pray. Her grandson had just been born and was diagnosed with Trysomy 3, which is a fatal condition. They were told he would survive a month at the most.

Sandy and her family were called together about 2 hours ago by the doctor. He said they had done more tests and they couldn't explain what was going on. There is no sign of Trysomy 3! There was no question about it yesterday, but there is no sign of it today. He still has several physical problems that will have to be taken care of, but nothing life threatening.
Our God is still in the miracle business. Praise Him!"

Pray for Baby Deegan

This is a note from Karen herself:

Deegan is still struggling with breathing. They have given him 2 treatments to help prevent the air sacs from sticking together. They also have him on a CPAP (forced air, tube up the nose) to help him breathe and keeping the air sacs from completely emptying. Deegan had a chest x-ray 2 hours ago and showed some other issues. His new major problem is he has a hole in his lung that is leaking air into his body. It can put pressure on his heart and also possibly cause his lung to collapse. They can put a needle into this area and suction out the air, but if it continues to be a problem they will need to put in a chest tube to help the air continueously escape. The hole should heal fine when his breathing stablizes and they are able to remove the CPAP. I am still in a lot of pain, but okay as long as they keep that morphine drip going! Love you guys and thank you so much for your prayers!

Isn't this a precious picture of Daddy and Deegan. Pray for God's healing grace upon Deegan, for his doctors and the hospital staff as they look over him and Karen. Pray for George, Anna and Clayton as they prepare for the homecoming of Baby Deegan and Mama.

Gurganus' baby news - PRAISE GOD AGAIN!!!

Baby Gurganus is here!!!! Here is a note from George:

Firstly, Baby Boy

Deegan James Kirksey Gurganus was born 7:38 a.m. ..7lbs 14oz...19.5 inches long ... baby's lungs are not yet transitioned to being out here in our world yet... so baby needs assistance breathing and is in N.I.C.U. ... there have been some procedures done to help baby ... so Deegan has a few more tubes for air and fluid than daddy likes to see ...

Now, Mommy

Karen's surgery took quite a few hours ... Baby was out in 30 minutes ... placenta was another story... no real surprises ... we have been getting regular updates about procreta, encreata, and one other -creata... basically (Im sick of the word Placenta, so it shall be referred to as IT for the duration of this note) IT was doing everything it could do that is not good... IT was all over the uterus, IT found a way out of the Uterus, IT attached itself to things other than the Uterus lining ... for safety to mommy... Karen had a historectomy ... this decision WAS MADE prior to the surgery ... but also do to the placenta, I mean "IT", Karen had to undergo some bladder reconstruction surgery ... She is recovering but is wiped out, and will be out of sorts for awhile ... even with the extra surgeries involved, Karen did not lose any more blood than would be expected from a c-section ...she is recooping in a semi-regular room... not in ICU ... and baby has made some progress even since this morning... both need prayers.

Update on Karen's pregnancy

As some of you may know, Karen Gurganus will be having surgery to deliver Baby Gurganus on Tuesday, August 25. She will need to remain in the hospital until at least Saturday, August 29. After that, Karen will need to recuperate from surgery. After about 4 weeks (late Sept), Karen is expected to be able to get up and around. But it will be about 9 weeks, or until late October, before Karen will be able to return to normal physical duties.

Kelli Flanagan has set up a care calendar so that we can sign up to bring dinners to the house and plan an occasional cleaning at the house. Giving diapers, wipes, and Infamil baby formula would also be a great way to help the Gurganus family.

Karen has expressed a desire for a
double stroller called "Sit N Stand" by Baby Trend, available at Target.

Wethought maybe we could all contribute toward this gift and get it for them. Let Kelli Flanagan (kel_flan@hotmail.com) know if you would like to contribute.

Please take a look and contact Kelli (email or text @
830-385-1229 is preferred) if you have any questions about the calendar or how to help. She has never done this type of calendar before so bear with her if it is not set up very well. :)

Let's lift Karen and George and the baby up to our Lord in prayer. As well, we need to pray for the doctors and the hospital staff to make this miracle happen for them...and as smoothly as possible. Let us also pray for Anna and Clayton as they prepare to welcome a little brother or sister into their home and hearts.

As well this is expanding our LHC family by one more little soul that we need to help nurture him or her in the upbringing of this wonderful Christian family.

Gurganus' baby news - PRAISE GOD

PRAISE GOD!! Details are coming, but we can start praising our glorious God for performing another miracle!! Karen had a doctor's appointment last week and the tests show her health and the health of her womb are improving, if not healed!!! We will get an email from George and Karen soon that I will post for everyone to see.

Lord, thank you for giving Baby Gurganus a healthier place to live out his days before his birth. YOU are the greatest healer and we praise YOU for all that you are.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Courtney Crosland's brother, Joey

We have been asked to pray for Courtney's brother, Joey. He is currently in the hospital and the doctors are adjusting his medications. We pray for God to help his doctors get the right meds to help him, with as few side effects as possible. We pray for God to make Joey aware of His Loving Care and His Hands upon him.

Rachel Henderson's eyes

Rachel has been having several problems over the last few weeks with her eyes - from pink eye to ulcers. Please keep her in your prayers!

Ann Parmeter-ANSWERED 7/30/09

At our Monday night bible study, Ann asked us to pray for her and an upcoming job interview. She was interviewing at First Baptist School - there was an opening for her young son also. How wonderful to be able to work where your little child is going to school.

Catherine Frailey's mom - Anita

Let us pray for Catherine's mom, Anita! She has been undergoing treatment for cancer for some time now. She just started a new round of chemo on Tuesday, July 28th. We pray for Anita, her doctors and nurses, and her entire family as we know this affects everyone.

Remember to visualize it, say it out loud and ask the Lord to heal her and make her healthy from the top of her head to the soles of her feet.

Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security. Jeremiah 33:6

Karen Gurganus and baby

Here is an email the church received from Karen:

Family

As most of you have been aware, I haven't been around much lately. I have been on restricted activity for several months. A few weeks ago, my doctor put me on bed rest after going into preterm labor. I have several issues that are making my pregnancy very high risk. I have slight placenta previa, but more dangerous I have placenta percreta and possibly placenta increta. Because of my previous c-sections, the scar tissue broke apart in my lower uterus and left "windows" in my uterus. The placenta has most likely grown into my abdominal wall, it is very close to growing into my bladder.

This week, I will be receiving shots to help mature the baby's lungs. The latest we will have the baby is August 25th ( 4 weeks early). We are waiting for several tests to come back and also will continue to watch the placenta with sonograms. It will be a difficult surgery, my doctor has set up specialist to be on there to help with any organ reconstruction that will need to be done. I will also have a hysterectomy at the same time.

I wanted to let you all know what was going on and thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a loving precious church. I will keep you updated about any new developments.

Karen Gurganus

So let us lift Karen, George, their family and unborn child up to our Lord and Savior.

Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Randy Fox's Brother-in-law, Garry - ANSWERED 7/21/09

Garry came to one of our men's work days and he and his wife (Randy's sister), Cindy have attended our church several times.Garry received a cancer diagnosis and had surgery on July 13th. He will be out of work for a few weeks and may have to undergo radiation and/or chemotherapy. We ask for prayers of healing from his surgery, for his doctors, for the lab technicians as they process his tests, for Cindy as she cares for her husband and thinks ahead and most of all, for a good prognosis.

Dustin's Salvation - ANSWERED 7/15/09

Jeremy Fox has a very good friend, Dustin, who lives in Lago Vista. He is not a Christian. He has come to our youth group with Jeremy several times. Jeremy has expressed a desire to talk to Dustin about Jesus - even marking his Bible with verses to help him.Well Dustin is going on the youth mission trip to Port Arthur. We are asking everyone to pray for God to show Dustin his salvation through Jesus.
