PRAISES

Randy Fox, who you know has been battling a horrible staph infection following achilles tendon surgery back in March, returned to the plastic surgeon for a post-op check up yesterday.

Praise GOD - very good news - his skin graft and flap are healing very nicely. He has been taken off of bed rest. He just has an Ace bandage over his leg for protection - no more wound care! He can walk with a crutch with light weight bearing - as he is not supposed to bend his ankle at all. He had the final staples taken out and can now take a shower with his entire body in the shower, instead of sitting in a chair with his leg sticking out - the first time since the end of March.

And best of all, he doesn't have to go back to the surgeon for three weeks.

We were very pleased with this check up, as was the surgeon!

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support during this long recovery over these many, many months.

Urgent Prayer Request

Kelly Toeppe, who attends our church as the supervisor of the Bluebonnet Ladies, had a 2 year old niece, Lexus, who passed away this morning. The family needs our prayers. The father lost his job recently so if anyone can give to help with funeral costs, please contact Jeff McAnally and commit an amount and we can send a check from the church.

Update on Randy Fox

Randy's wound is not healing as fast as they had hoped. The infectious disease doctor has increased his IV antibiotics for one more week. He visits a plastic surgeon on Friday to see if there is anything he can do to close this wound.
Please keep Randy in your prayers as he faces yet another possible surgery and for speedy recovery - this time!

Prayer Request from Barbara Parmeter

I just got word that the daughter of a very dear friend and sister in Christ has a very aggressive form of breast cancer. The daughter's name is Rhiannon. She begins chemo today and will eventually go through a radical bilateral mastectomy and have her ovaries removed, the cancer is already in her lymph nodes. She is a young woman, not yet 30 and has an infant daughter. She and her family are standing strong in their faith, but I know that prayer is our most powerful weapon.
I thank you all for your prayers,
Barb Parmeter

We recently learned of another cancer patient that we have been praying for for years - a young man - who was completely healed - Cancer Free!!! This could only have been done by the Miracle of GOD!
Please pray for this young woman, RHIANNON, to have a miracle in her life!

Prayers for Randy Fox and family

Hello my church family,

I usually am the one posting other people's prayer requests. Well, now I have one of my own - My husband, Randy, has been battling infection after infection, and an open wound, since having his Achilles tendon repaired on March 31st. He will go back into surgery this Friday at 12:30 to remove the dissolvable sutures which is where the doctor thinks the infection is being harbored. While in there, they will do a deep culture to try to determine the exact type of infection. The doc is also bringing in an infectious disease specialist. Randy will be in the hospital through Monday. Depending on what they find will determine the course of action - they may send him home on Monday or he might remain in the hospital for a continued course of IV antibiotics.

Please pray for us that we remain calm and confident in knowing that God is in control. Please pray for our surgeon, Dr. Joel Hurt, who is an amazing Christian man, to use his God-given talents to perform this surgery. Please pray for the nurses and other staff that we have to deal with in their understanding of what Randy has been through the last four months - and their understanding that to us this isn't just a routine surgery.

Thank you in advance for praying. Janie Fox

Request for Steven Todd

Friday morning, July 23rd, at 1130am, Steven is having surgery in Round Rock on his knee to repair a torn miniscus. Please pray with us that the procedure, anesthesia, etc would go perfectly and without a hitch. Pray for the doc/nurses to be well rested and alert to do their job perfectly. Pray for Steven's body to respond as it should and recover quickly.

Thank you so much. We don't expect this surgery to have a long recovery time, just some physical therapy, etc. Steven expects to be back at work on Monday. Jennifer's mom has come up to stay with the kids tomorrow, so all is well on the home front, too.

Dave's Dad passed away last night. We received this word from him:

A few moments ago at approximately 2:43 am Central time, my much loved Dad peacefully passed away in his sleep at the ripe ol' age of 87 having lived a happy & full life. He just finished reading a few days earlier the book "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. Dad is now living what he read about... Glory!

The Lykken family will be travelling to Minnesota today to be with his Mom and other family.

Keep them in your prayers during this sad, but at the same time, joyous event in their lives.

Here is a newspaper article about her-

Saturday, March 20, 2010

ANSWERED PRAYERS: Catherine Frailey

Good news. Catherine has no significant blockage. There's one artery that is somewhat constricted (probably born that way) that she will take medication to open up.

She'll be in the hospital a couple more days to adjust meds and evaluate.

Thank you for all your prayers! Let us continue to pray for her speedy recovery and the adjustment of her medication.

UPDATED directly from Catherine Frailey

This was posted by Catherine herself on Facebook:

Well I am writing you from the hospital, YES the Dr. says I did have a heart attack and we are going to do a heart catheterization in a few hours to see whats going on with me. Please pray for my doctor and for James he really needs the support, and for me to get well.

UPDATE: Kodi Tutt

They just found out that Kodi's cancer is worse than they thought. ALL of her bones and marrow are involved. Not sure what that means exactly.

Please keep praying for this little girl and her family.

UPDATE: Catherine Frailey

They did a sonogram and saw enough blockage that they are going to do the "camera-thing" today. They also confirmed some damage on the top of her heart. I don't really know how bad all of this is, but I know it means we need to keep praying.

Update on Kodi Tutt

This update via an email from Courtney Crosland:
Kodi has neuroblastoma. She has several tumors... from what I understand there is one on her spine, in her stomach, and other places on her bones. She began chemo the day she found out for sure. She is still in the hospital (until Friday) because they are trying to keep food in her and are working on her digestive system, and they are teaching her parents what to keep an eye out for. She will have to go once a month (this is info from a friend, so I'm not 100% on this) after this for 12 months. She may have to have surgery eventually. They say the outlook is good since she's so young, but it is going to be a long year for her and her family.

They are so thankful for all of the people that are praying for them!

Praise from Stevensons

Below is an email we received from Pam Stevenson:

We are so happy to hear news from Caryn's neurosurgeon. He said there's no sign of a tumor! That still leaves him completely baffled, but there's nothing left to do but follow up in 3 months. I am believing that God will gradually restore her eyesight completely, too. What a mighty God we serve!

I am also hoping to get lined out with a permanent place for the Granite Uplift Family Ministry, so please continue to pray for those families and using the horse ministry for them. Just started a new group of women at the prison, and the need is so urgent to encourage them.

Glenn's dad is hanging on. We will be going back to Arkansas as soon as the ice and snow clear.

Thanks for the prayers.

Joshua Parmeter

Lift up Joshua Parmeter today in prayer - he has been struggling with ear infections. Please pray for the doctors' God-given talents to diagnose this properly and find a solution to end his suffering.

Requests from the Stevenson Family

This is from an email received from Glenn Stevenson:

We called in Hospice last week. Mom and dad are struggling with the transition but that is going as well as can be expected. His pain is hard to regulate since the cancer is in his bones. Pam is headed to Magnolia today so she can accompany Caryn to a Neuro-retinal specialist we have been referred to by her childhood eye doctor located in Houston. She has been having some disturbing issues in the eye where the tumor was removed from the orbit when she was an infant. The first two specialist could not label the problem but made it clear that we should keep on this until an answer is found. With her grandfather on one side going blind in one eye, then the other and her grandmother Betty having Macular Degeneration, we are trying to work the problem as fast as possible. Please keep Caryn and Jim, my father in your prayers. We had the grandboys this weekend and still can not remember how we ever kept up with our kids at that age. Hopefully, soon we will be brave enough to take both of them out at the same time. Our life is full of blessings and miracles! Our prayer is that HIS WILL shall continue to guide us and prepare us for the events to come.

Poor Economy - prayer for local businesses

We need to keep our local businesses in our daily prayers during this rough economic time. This is the bread and butter for these folks. While times are tough for all of us, we still would like to buy gifts for others and pass along inspiration to them as well as ourselves.

One store I love to shop at, or just browse is Calvary's Road Christian Books and Gifts. I don't like driving into Austin and they always have just the right item for whatever gift I am shopping for.

Let's pray for all of our retailers as we don't want to see anymore "Closing" signs in windows.

Calvary's Road Christian Books & Gifts
510 Highway 281 North in the Salem Center in Marble Falls.

Catherine Frailey's mom, Anita

Please lift up Anita in prayer as she continues to fight this long battle with cancer. She is undergoing another aggressive treatment and is in alot of pain.
Also lift up her family as they continue to comfort her and be by her side.

1 Peter 1:7:
7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Bruce and the Baptist Student Ministry

As most of you already know, Bruce Jeffers (our youth leader) has been asked to go full time with his job at the BSM. He will no longer split his time between our youth and the students at UT. We were blessed to have him here for the time he was here. Please keep Bruce and the BSM in your daily prayers. We know college is a very tough transition between being a child and becoming an adult. It is a time when many who were brought up in the church may stray, as well as those who never attended church.

Please pray that Bruce can have activities that will attract many college students and bring them to Jesus and closer to God.

We love you, Bruce, and will miss you!
